    10:02 AM on June 06, 2011

    It's starting.

Alexander Vaughn 10:00 AM on June 06, 2011

The music is on. "I feel good"

    09:58 AM on June 06, 2011

Ladies and gentlemen, our presentation will begin shortly. Switch your devices to silent.

Joe White 09:55 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: Bye everyone, hope you enjoy it!

Bryan Wolfe 09:55 AM on June 06, 2011

    Bryan: Enjoy the show folks.

Alexander Vaughn 09:54 AM on June 06, 2011

Alright awesome. Thanks Joe and Bryan. We are now just 5 minutes away and we're going to hand off the liveblog to folks on site for the live coverage. Stick around everyone, it's about to get really awesome!

Bryan Wolfe 09:52 AM on June 06, 2011

    I say $49

Alexander Vaughn 09:52 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: I say free, or 30 bucks.

Joe White 09:51 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: But what about price? If Apple releases Lion in the Mac App Store, how much will it cost?

Bryan Wolfe 09:50 AM on June 06, 2011

Yeah, Mac App Store for everything, which is how it should be. I think Amazon's recent moves have helpedApple in terms of competition. And that is always good.

Alexander Vaughn 09:48 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: Definitely Mac App Store release for Lion. My sources are also saying APple will go full Mac App Store, by stopping retail sales of Software

Joe White 09:48 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: Yes, if something launched this week I'd be really happy - like Bryan said, OS X Lion in the MAS and maybe the launch of iCloud!

Bryan Wolfe 09:47 AM on June 06, 2011

Okay, we've got just under 15 minutes. Getting exciting. My biggest hope is that SOMETHING is available for consumers this week. OSX Lion maybe in Mac App Store?

Alexander Vaughn 09:46 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: Good point joe. I guess we'll find out soon enough

    09:45 AM on June 06, 2011

Press is being allowed in the room now. We're getting our seats

Joe White 09:44 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: The question is, is the iPhone's screen big enough to effectively support gestures? I think not, at least not the kind of gestures we've seen with the iPad. Could this hint an an iPhone with a bigger screen? - Who knows.

    Steve Jobs - Apple

    15 minutes to go....

Bryan Wolfe 09:42 AM on June 06, 2011

If a new iPhone is announced today, Apple did great jobs plugging the leaks. My question: were they sent to North Korea or Gitmo! Gestures on the iPhone? They would be nice. I've used them on iPad for some time. To be honest, don't use them that much. However, I do like how you can move from app to app using fingers.

Alexander Vaughn 09:41 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: What about gestures? iOS 4.0 has it for developers.

Joe White 09:38 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: Turn by turn for the Maps app would be nice, but I don't think we'll see that in iOS 5. I'll be happy with improved notifications and iCloud integration.

Bryan Wolfe 09:37 AM on June 06, 2011

Bryan: widgets? twitter integration? on the fly os updates? FYI: Robin says those banners ARE HUGE

Alexander Vaughn 09:35 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: They're getting new notifications, that's a given I think. Twitter integration, and hopefully some X factor thing.

Joe White 09:35 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: One thing we know Apple is going to announce, is iOS 5. What new features are we hoping to see?

Bryan Wolfe 09:34 AM on June 06, 2011

I'll stick to my prediction. Jobs will unveil something less than a full iPhone today.

Alexander Vaughn 09:33 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: I don't think there is going to be an iPhone today. Especially not a smaller one.

Joe White 09:33 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: You know what guys, I wasn't expecting one to be announced until September UNTIL I saw those banners. Now I'm wondering - could we see an iPhone nano announced today, and an iPhone 4S/5 in September?

Bryan Wolfe 09:32 AM on June 06, 2011

Ping, what is that? LOL. So folks, iPhone today or not. What are your thoughts?

Alexander Vaughn 09:31 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: Twitter is a given I believe. Though Facebook I'm not sure. I simply don't think Apple is ready to give up all its iPhone users' data to Facebook like that. Twitter might be less "evil"

Joe White 09:28 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: I think so too, though I hope it's more of a success than Ping. Apple's last attempt at a "social network" didn't go so well...

Bryan Wolfe 09:27 AM on June 06, 2011

Bryan: We haven't really heard much about the photo aspects of iOS 5, besides the photostream rumor months ago. Since we know Twitter integration is coming, that would be a nice tool. I love my instagram though.

Alexander Vaughn 09:26 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: One big thing we heard about it the "Photostream" social network. I think Apple might be going after Instagram

Bryan Wolfe 09:22 AM on June 06, 2011

I want to know when/how our music moves to the cloud. Is this automatic? And what about our existing music? Will Apple now always be scanning our iTunes folder and uploading?

Joe White 09:20 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: I hope it goes live as soon as possible, too. Features I'm hoping for are music streaming and file storage. Online backups would be nice, too. But how much will it cost? Will there be a free option?

Alexander Vaughn 09:19 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex. Yeah, that's what Jon Gruber is saying, and if one person knows it's him.

Bryan Wolfe 09:16 AM on June 06, 2011

Bryan: Wal-Mart thing is interesting. Now, onto iCloud. What should we expect? I am thinking iTunes is going to shift dramatically to an online presence. Not sure if it will be MobileMe refresh or not, however. Hope it goes live ASAP

Joe White 09:16 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: So guys, what kind of features are you hoping to see in iCloud?

Alexander Vaughn 09:14 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: well, the Apple Online Store is still on. Also, I'm hearing iPhone 4 is on sale for $147 at Walmart until June 30th.. huh.

Joe White 09:11 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: I agree, boring. And you're right Bryan - not everybody owns a Time Capsule, not everybody needs to. I really hope iCloud launches hardware-free. Perhaps an updated Time Capsule could "enhance" the experience or add new features, who knows?

Bryan Wolfe 09:09 AM on June 06, 2011

Bryan: Sorry, but that sounds boring to me. And yes, we better not need hardware for this thing. Joe?

Alexander Vaughn 09:09 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: I talked to Tim, he thinks it's the new Time Capsule for iCloud. Sounds like a good guess to me. I wonder though, iCloud should really be online. I don't like that there is still local hardware needed. What do you think?

Joe White 09:07 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: I definitely think Bryan's ideas surrounding an iPhone nano are interesting - and of course, it would be iCloud related. The first cloud-based iPhone?

Bryan Wolfe 09:06 AM on June 06, 2011

Bryan: Hmm, I'm on record saying it could be an iPhone nano, but who knows. I just don't think it will be a new iPhone (4S or 5). But, who knows. I just think the One More Thing is tied to iCloud

Alexander Vaughn 09:04 AM on June 06, 2011

Alex: Yeah, but looks like there might be some suprises. 148apps just tweeted this picture of covered banners. Two banners still left to be unveiled! What doyou think it is?

Joe White 09:02 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: Yes, definitely. And I can't wait to see how integrated iCloud is going to be iOS 5 and OS X Lion.

Bryan Wolfe 09:01 AM on June 06, 2011

Bryan: Obviously the day belongs to iCloud, but Lion and iOS 5 will also play an important role. What will be nice to know is when these things debut for users.

Alexander Vaughn 09:00 AM on June 06, 2011

Awesome, glad to have you on. So, Bryan first, what do you think is the big ticket item today?

Joe White 08:59 AM on June 06, 2011

Joe: Hello everyone, hope you're all excited!

Bryan Wolfe 08:58 AM on June 06, 2011

    Good morning/afternoon everyone

Alexander Vaughn 08:55 AM on June 06, 2011

Alright good news. To help you wait, Joe and Bryan are joining me on the liveblog in a few minutes to discuss the rumors (listed on the left). We're very excited.

Alexander Vaughn 08:52 AM on June 06, 2011

Humor from Twitter: "Sadly, it turns out that iCloud is just an update to the weather widget on iOS. #wwdc" (via @anthonystauffer)

Alexander Vaughn 08:46 AM on June 06, 2011

Last minute rumor: Apple will be including something like WhatsApp/BBM in OS5. As well as new notifications.

Alexander Vaughn 08:43 AM on June 06, 2011

I don't know for you, but Apple security looks scary.

Alexander Vaughn 08:38 AM on June 06, 2011

Oh and, don't forget this liveblog (live.appadvice.com) is an html5 app that can run on any devices (including iPad). We also built-in Liveblog support inside our app (one more thing), so we've got you covered wherever you are.

Alexander Vaughn 08:35 AM on June 06, 2011

Tim Chaten is right outside the building, he's got some great pics for us.

Alexander Vaughn 08:34 AM on June 06, 2011

We've asked: Apple hasn't banned Mifi devices this year, despite last year's problems. The WiFi is WEP-protected though... Good they gave us the password.

Alexander Vaughn 08:23 AM on June 06, 2011

It also appears there is going to be some music involved too. We can hear a soundcheck going on inside the room, sounds like bass.

Alexander Vaughn 08:19 AM on June 06, 2011

Looks like there is gonna be a one more thing! Apple has one more banner they kept covered.

Alexander Vaughn 08:17 AM on June 06, 2011

Yes, as you can see we are inside now. Thanks Apple!

Alexander Vaughn 08:10 AM on June 06, 2011

We have some more people on site now. Interestingly, the end of the line is now the front of the line.

Alexander Vaughn 07:59 AM on June 06, 2011

So Engadget made a big splash saying they'll be broadcasting the event. Actually, it's linkbait. They're broadcasting FROM the event. So don't get too excited, and stick around.

Alexander Vaughn 07:57 AM on June 06, 2011

For those of you experiencing difficulties seeing the images: We're working on it.

Alexander Vaughn 07:53 AM on June 06, 2011

Do you know that Chuck Norris runs Android on his iPhone 4?

Alexander Vaughn 07:51 AM on June 06, 2011

Here is a great shot by @SteveStreza from Twitter. The line is incredible.

Alexander Vaughn 07:50 AM on June 06, 2011

If you have any questions, remarks, iPhone/Android jokes or pictures, feel free to let me know over at @xonder on Twitter.

Alexander Vaughn 07:48 AM on June 06, 2011

I'm getting a lot of questions about whether Apple will be streaming the event. The answer is I don't think so. They usually pre-announce that sort of thing, at least by a few hours. They haven't.

Alexander Vaughn 07:46 AM on June 06, 2011

Saurik, the creator and maintainer of Cydia is apparently at the very front of the line with a bunch of jailbreak developers. Apple must be pleased.

Alexander Vaughn 07:43 AM on June 06, 2011

The best proof of the massive presence of geeks at Moscone right now is definitely the fact that AT&T's 3G just went under... No surprise there.

Alexander Vaughn 07:34 AM on June 06, 2011

Question: What is the difference between Android 2.1 and 2.2? Answer: 6 months

Alexander Vaughn 07:23 AM on June 06, 2011

Here is another pic, this time farther away by Engadget

Alexander Vaughn 07:05 AM on June 06, 2011

Steve is rehearsing as we speak apparently (thank iSpazio!) Image below.

Alexander Vaughn 07:00 AM on June 06, 2011

Good we've got Press passes, we wouldn't want to wait in that line all night. Congrats to those who have the courage to do so though. I'm sure it's gonna be worth it.

Alexander Vaughn 06:56 AM on June 06, 2011

Then here is Rene Ritchie's picture from TIPB

Alexander Vaughn 06:55 AM on June 06, 2011

Here is a picture from @kshepherd

Alexander Vaughn 06:47 AM on June 06, 2011

Alright, it's almost 7am in San Francisco. The team is on its way. Reports indicate the line is already about 700-1000 people so if you're developer, hurry up.

Alexander Vaughn 04:13 AM on June 06, 2011

Alright, it's only 4am right now and the line to enter the keynote is already a couple hundred strong. We just found these first shots on Twitter, posted by @glasshouseapps.
